今宮祭は、今宮神社で毎年執り行われるお祭りです。
起源は平安時代の「紫野御霊会（むらさきのごりょうえ）」に遡り、疫病退散を祈る祭礼として始まったとされています。
西陣の興隆と共に氏子地域の民衆の祭りとして栄え、今日まで伝統が受け継がれております。
2025年は
5日に神幸祭
11日には還幸祭
が行われ、数ヶ所で行われる神輿の舁き上げは勇ましいです✨
神幸祭は御出祭（おいでまつり）とも称され、御本社から御旅所へと三基の神輿を中心に約800名の行列が巡幸します！
雅びやかに剣鉾の列が先をつとめ

愛らしく可憐に舞う八乙女
舁き上げ魂振る大神輿
町々に連なる神迎えの笑顔が晴れやかに列を包み込みます☺️

A ujigami is a god who protects the area where one lives, and the people who live in that area are called ujiko. The ujigami is enshrined in a shrine where the local people worship it together and visit it to pray and express their gratitude.

Shishimai is a traditional performing art seen all over Japan, performed in costumes and headgear that resemble the mythical animal lion. It is often performed on New Year's Day and at festivals, and is meant to ward off evil spirits, ensure good health, and ensure bountiful harvests. Kagawa Prefecture is particularly popular as an area where shishimai is known for its wide variety of different types of dance.
